Located in Barcelona downtown, 500 meters away from the sea-line, the Ciutadella Campus is the UPF’s biggest urban campus. The site consists of six unique buildings connected by wide pathways and terraces bustling with young Social Science and Humanities students. The two main buildings on the campus, Jaume I and Roger de Llúria, were originally built and used as military barracks. After their renovation in the mid-90s, the buildings began to be used for university functions. Also part of the campus is the Depósito de las Aguas building, now a breathtaking library, designed by Josep Fontserè and the then young architecture student Antoni Gaudí.
The conference will take place in Roger de Llúria building, a former military barrack dating back to 1887. Rehabilitated, this building is a fusion of old and new structures that give rise to a luminous, open space, envisioned to promote interaction among people.
The venue is located 5 min walking distance from Metro station, tram station and bus stop. Additionally, several services are offered around this location, such as accommodation, restaurants or cafeterias.
